De Pere High School senior Mansha Ghai has been selected to receive a Herb Kohl Educational Foundation Student Excellence Scholarship. Recipients have demonstrated excellence in the academic arena and high motivation to achieve, have displayed a broad range of activity and leadership outside the academic setting, and have shown strong promise for succeeding in college and beyond.
Ghai plans to attend the University of Wisconsin-Madison majoring in biology on the pre-med track.
“I would like to thank my parents and all of my teachers, with a special shoutout to Mrs. Rockstroh and Mrs. Hawley for sending in my recommendations on short notice,” she says.
Ghai is among 200 Wisconsin high school students to receive a Kohl Foundation scholarship.
The Kohl Foundation Scholarship and Fellowship program was established by Herb Kohl, philanthropist and businessman in 1990. Since then the foundation has awarded nearly $25 million to Wisconsin educators, principals, students and schools.
