USDD Board Updates COVID-19 Mitigation Strategies

Tuesday, June 8, the USDD Board of Education approved the following regarding COVID-19 mitigation strategies:
 
Effective June 9, 2021 and into the 2021-2022 school year, the following School District Covid-19 mitigation strategies will go into effect:
  1. Masks are optional in all school buildings and property.
  2. Consistent with the guidelines of the CDC, students and adults will not have to quarantine if asymptomatic, and meet one of the following conditions:
    Vaccinated
    Anyone who is fully vaccinated will be exempt from quarantine following a known exposure if asymptomatic. People are considered fully vaccinated for COVID-19 2 weeks after they have received the second dose in a 2-dose series (Pfizer or Moderna), or 2 weeks after they have received a single-dose vaccine (Johnson and Johnson (J&J).
    Antibody Test
    Any unvaccinated person who obtains a positive/reactive antibody test will be exempt from quarantine for up to 90 days from the positive/reactive test date if asymptomatic.
    Prior Covid Positive Test
    Anyone who has a confirmed positive Covid test will be exempt from quarantine for a period of 90 days after the positive test date.
  3. Consistent with the guidelines of the CDC, students and adults who need to quarantine will quarantine for 10 days without a Covid test or 7 days after receiving a negative COVID test (PCR) which must occur after day 5.
  4. The District will continue with social distancing strategies.
